Our Family Dogs
The concept for this project was to explore aging in our family's beloved dogs: Pepper, Taffy, and Cracker (left to right). I have been fortunate to visit my parents a few times every year and with each trip home, I could see how much our dogs were aging. In November 2014, I took several head shots of each dog as well as documented the passage of time--the wear and tear--on their bodies. For my final pieces, I paired one head shot with one body shot. With this project I also wanted to create beautiful portraits for my family, which I knew would be lovely to have after the dogs were gone. Cracker passed in July 2015.
